The cover illustration shows the carillon tower on top the Plummer Building of Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. When this building was completed in 1928, it was the tallest building in Minnesota, at a height of 297 feet. This Romanesque building has many wonderful architectural features, including massive solid bronze entrance doors of Moorish design. Each door weighs 4,000 Ib and is elaborately decorated with square panels that symbolize life in Minnesota, including education, domestic arts, mechanical and fine arts and sciences, agriculture, and Native American culture. Representative icons and other architectural features of the Plummer Building punctuate the end of the cases.
