Adding Windows 2000 Client Computers

You can also configure Windows 2000 Professional computers as domain clients on the client computer. The process is very similar to adding an XP client to a domain. You can access the Network Identification tab via the Properties dialog box. Follow these steps:

1. On the computer desktop, right-click the My Computer icon and then select Properties. The Properties dialog box opens. Select the Network Identification tab.

2. On the Network Identification tab, select the Properties button. The Identification Changes dialog box appears.

3. Click the Member of Domain option button and then enter the name of the domain of which the computer will be a member. Then click OK. The computer must be rebooted for the process to be completed. As with Windows XP, a computer account is added to the Active Directory automatically.
